There are only a couple issues. One, why not just sell them with regular plug in cords and why not be able to choose the nightlight you like instead of it constantly cycling through all the colors?

1. Easy to assemble right out of the box. Don’t forget to remove plastic from filter!
2. Neutralizes smoke odor in small room! Our apartment neighbors smoke religiously and it permeates into our bathroom. It smelled like an astray or like somebody hotboxed right in our bathroom. Rather left running or on the timer, this filter knocks the smell right out! There is still a mild odor left, but I assume that’s from their continued smoking while the filter is running! Definitely cannot tell it was smoke smell!

I wish I had bought this item sooner! It arrived yesterday and I can already tell a difference in the air quality of my apartment.
Some reviews mentioned a strong plastic smell initially, but my unit didn't have any issues. There was a mild plastic smell pulling it out of the box, but I didn't notice any bad smells when turning it on. Smells give me headaches, so this was important to me.
I was also pleasantly surprised about the noise level. The sleep setting really is super quiet. I can hardly tell it's on. Low setting is also very quiet. The medium/high settings sound like a typical fan, which is to be expected. The sound isn't bothersome in my opinion.
At first I wondered if I would need more than one unit for my 2-bedroom apartment. So far, just the one item has been enough. I ran it on high for a few hours when it arrived, and now I move it from room to room if I want to focus on an area, but it seems to do a good job if you give it time to cycle the air.
Would definitely recommend this item, and would gladly buy it again!

If you use this on a large room specified, it's pointless. If you don't charge the filter when needed, it's useless. If you use it in a humid room or with a humidifier, you'll ruin it. So get the appropriate size machine for the size room you need, pretty key! So far this has been an awesome machine, looks cool and isn't large or bulky. Easy to use and affordable. Its a HEPA filter which is what we wanted, honestly if it isn't, it wouldnt really work. HEPA is unique to particles and fine dust particulates but can be expensive. (used in construction and mold remediation) So this is a great price for what it is. Skeptic now converted..... well converted now to just this product lol.

Ok, Had this for a few months now. I was SUPER SKEPTICAL about it. Honestly, I think a lot of 'purifiers' are gimics or maybe they aren't used right or filters not changed or the space is too big for it (which is likely the issue-user error) .I wanted something for my bedroom since it seems my allergies are worse at night, in my room for some reason. No pets, non smoker but maybe because if clothes etc there's more lint and dust? IDK. i wanted something small, unintrusive and not breaking the bank money wise. Tried this with the 'intention' of returning it. Nope! So weird, it works, legit works. Haven't had any allergy issues at night anymore. I might get a bit stuffed up here and there, but no itchy ears or throat or nose. I sleep substantially better for longer uninterrupted nights. The night mode is awesome, I turn it on a fan, good white noise of you need but you can turn the fan off. Lights all turn off too. we use it every night with door shut. I do believe in reading and adhering to the manual and maintenance of a product.

This works as good as everyone says, a time when research paid off for sure. Though, I have to share something hysterical! I used them for like 3 weeks thinking they were doing a fantastic job, which is an example of how powerful we are, but that's for another time and another post.. I legit used this for three weeks with the plastic on the filters. I was like okay these are kind of noisy.. but they are working! LMAO, one day I tipped one over and the bottom came open to reveal the filter that was wrapped in plastic. I haven't laughed that hard seriously since like I don't even know when. My neighbors must've thought I straight lost my mind. I laughed so hard I was slobbering. It was great.. maybe you could do it just for the laugh haha Though once I took the plastic off the filters, then they REALLY worked like you wouldn't believe. hahaha yep, I really did that, it was great!

I almost forgot but I got it right on the last day so don't forget that it's important you may need it down the road... They also say this purifier is rated number three for 2023... This is about my second air purifier I've been needing a purifier because of my sinus infections ... My roommate smokes about 3 to 4 packs a day and I smoke a pack a day so I say it's very smoky in the house plus I have four cats in my house so and during this pandemic with a virus this purifier is the best purifier I've ever had due to those circumstances ... We have our air purifiers running at all times. My husband works from home and said that when the purifier is on high it is really loud on his Zoom meetings so he turns it down to the low setting and it’s no problem. In our master bedroom we turn it in to night mode at night which is virtually silent and the lights turn off which is a bonus. For me, even when not on night mode, it’s not loud.
Some reviews mentioned a smell when you first open the package. We didn’t experience this at all.
Overall, 10/10, highly recommend. Especially if you have allergies.

We purchased two of these because I and my daughter have terrible allergies. Build and workmanship quality: excellent. Fit and finish are flawless. Plastic housing appears to be ABS, and is thick (about 3-4mm) and solid. Filter removal is simple from the bottom, and has a robust locking mechanism. The fan must be balanced as I feel almost not vibration even on high.

I use it at night, since that's the only time when I'm in one room long enough for a filter to mater. Many times I've gone to bed with a runny nose and sore eyes, and wake up many times during the night. Now within an hour my nose is better, and wake up without any irritations. very quiet, can't hear it on sleep mode, and speed 1 is quiet enough that if you're 10 feet away you can't hear it. Puts out enough filtered air for a small bedroom of 12x12 or so. If you have a larger space, you're going to need more of these. Of course it's a hepa filter and will remove most everything from the air. Can it catch a virus? I doubt it, but smoke, polen, dust, and limited amount of odors, yes.

I did some research, and this appears to be the best air filter available. There are much more expensive models, with more expensive filters, but they all do the same thing. The big difference is quality, features, and design as well as access to easy to order inexpensive filters that last nearly a year.
Design: modern, looks like a Tic-Tac. Has modern touch screen like controls, instead of 1940's clunky dials and switches built with other purifiers, even ones costing hundreds of dollars.
Features: multiple speeds, easy to use lighted user interface, timer feature, reasonably long cord. Weighted well, and solid. Child/cat proof control lock.

Really glad I made this purchase. Sleep mode is very quiet and the option to turn the display lights off is great! The timers are convenient to have along with the lock setting so if you have little ones poking around they won’t change anything. There are only two incredibly small issues I have with this air purifier which are that I think the cord is a bit short for my personal taste and the higher fan settings are a bit loud if I'm trying to focus (perfect volume for white noise if that's your jam though!) but overall the pros vastly outweigh the cons. This air purifier is definitely for small/medium spaces but if you don't want one of those massive towering monstrosities that have the capacity to purify an entire level of your home I think using these purifiers in high traffic areas/bedrooms can be just as beneficial.

This is a wonderful machine that does its job perfectly. It has lots of suction in high and can clear a room of floating particles in a few hours. It’s very quiet on night mode, so much that I have to check that it is still on. It blows air out the top which keeps particles from falling to the ground- they float in the air until it can suck them in. We really like it and are planning to give it as gifts to our family and friends - it is that good.

I’ll sometimes pop it on high for a little while while I’m not in the room just to give the air an extra boost. I also placed it in a cheap plant stand to keep it off the ground and give it a nicer look.
For reference, this unit is placed in a room about the size of a small two car garage. I wouldn’t recommend for much larger than that.

This unit looks great and does a great job at reducing (not eliminating!) odors and stagnant air. As for the noise level, it is a fan so don’t expect silence! The low is very quiet. Medium is slightly noticeable at first but quickly blends into the background. It’s actually quite soothing. High sounds like your everyday table fan. It is noticeable, but I have found that medium works just fine.

After I bought this, I noticed my other ionic filter wasn't doing squat.
I set it up in my family room, with open pathway to the rest of the house and it drove the PM2.5 down from 30ug/m^3 to 15 in 45 minutes.
I put it in a bedroom where I had left the window open on a very smokey day. The room started at 72 for the same metric, and was down to 5 only thirty minutes later. It was a small bedroom with the door closed.
This things works. It's very quiet in speed 1--ok for watching tv in the same room. A bit noisier at speed 3, but not unpleasant.

I waited a couple months to post my review, because I wanted to be sure of what I was experiencing. Seemed too good to be true from the start. Fair warning, my spouse though it would be a good idea to locate our cat’s litter box in my office, 6 feet from where I work from home Monday through Friday. Our cat is obese, and craps at least 3 times a day — sometimes 5. It was getting to the point where the smell was so bad, I was considering getting rid of the cat. The worst was when I would get stuck on a Zoom and end up trapped in my office with the door closed and a fresh steaming cat turd behind me. Breathing that odor in all day can not be good for you, I thought.

There's a noticeable difference in air quality even after just 10 to 15 minutes. It's been about a hour, but it doesn't seem to be getting hot to the touch. The air blowing out of it is slightly cooler than room temp.

Well it came today and I have been running it for about 8 hours and so far I really love it. There was absolutely NO bad smell coming from it whatsoever. There were also complaints that it was so loud. Let me tell you on speed 1 and 2 you virtually can not hear it at all. On the highest speed it literally is as loud as my fan on medium speed. The booklet says to run it for about 20-30 minutes on high then it can be tuned down to 1 or 2 depending on your preference. So at those speeds you would not hear it at all. Very quiet.

During the day it sits on a counter top that puts it perfectly in the center of kitchen/dining room/living room. I turn it on when I get home. Run it on setting 2 & set timer to 8hrs. When I go to bed I move it to the bedroom (it's light weight & easy to move around)- his bed is in the floor next to my bed ....yep, that's right, & I keep it on setting 2 & time another 8 hrs (not that I get that much sleep, but it runs the whole time I'm getting ready for work too). I don't use the sleep mode- but put it there on day 1 to see what it was... the light is much dimmer & it runs softly & is whisper quiet. I have allergies & sleep with the dog in my room- no, I need setting 2 at least. The light is no more than a night light- not bothersome at all. It does make sound.... on a scale of 1-10, 10 being someone talking in a normal voice.... I'd say setting 2 would be a 5, sleep mode a 1. For me it's an unexpected perk, something I didn't know would be so great till I had it- it is perfect "white noise" in a home of people with different sleep schedules!! I seriously sleep SO much better!!

A few years ago was put in a spot- sweet puppy desperately needs home. Had a few visits- no sneezing or itchy eyes. Brought puppy home. Fell IN LOVE- how could anyone not, look at that face !!! there isn't much better of a proof than to see the air filtered to acceptable levels live on an air monitor. The values on my desk just 3 feet away when I first turned the filtering unit on were 1.2, 2.4, 70, 100, and 1200 for HCHO, TVOC, PM2.5, PM10, and CO2 respectively. They are now .01, .07, 30, 52, 700 after 5 minutes in the same location.
There isn't much more to say...if you have a smaller to mid size room, this filter is relatively quiet and will fix your polluted air problem.

I first noticed a problem whenever I had been working from home as an Electrical Engineer. My home office has lots of crazy things in it that are on all the time. I went on a military Reserves mission and suddenly had no symptoms. I came back home, and once again had throat, sinus, coughing, etc.
I purchased an air quality meter that covers HCHO, TVOC, PM2.5-PM10, and CO2. I quickly discovered that I had high levels of all of the categories. On the pollution scale, it was medium-bad,, although it is b uilt for filtering this kind of air but it works immaculately!!!!

I am thoroughly amazed. (BTW this was with the filter that came in the box). The highest setting is kinda loud but its definitely quieter than a normal room fan. Doesn't bother me as long it serves the main purpose. Setting two is really quiet; you can sleep through that. Lowest setting is so quiet you can't even tell its on.
Highly recommend. Make sure you measure your room for square footage as that definitely matters.

The filters are easily replaceable & easily vacuumed for a quick clean (DO NOT WASH THEM; the instructions state this very clearly, and after seeing how our vacuum filter acted after my boyfriend washed it, I cannot imagine the hell you'd deal with trying to wash one of these).

I used to see dust and hair slowly floating through the air in our house constantly, no matter how often we vacuumed, dusted, or changed the air filters for the HVAC system; I no longer see these, and my breathing improved exponentially, almost overnight, after initially running this purifier on high for a full day and night. Ever since, I've been running it on high with the timer set to 6 hours when I leave for work, and then on the sleep mode every other night.
We've moved it throughout the house to see which areas help the best, and actually ended up buying one for each floor of our home, without batting an eye at the cost because IT'S SERIOUSLY THAT GOOD.

Hands down, this is the best air purifier on the market right now. As someone with severe seasonal allergies that run March-November, and a pet cat & dog, PLUS asthma...I cannot recommend this product enough. Don't bother wasting your time with bigger, bulkier, more expensive models like I did in the past- this little guy can handle it all so much better than any other one I've tried.

Since then we've mainly kept it on Sleep mode the whole time, and it's good to know that our air is being cleaned. I like that there are other filter options available depending on your need, such as one that is for germs. I might use that if we end up getting a cold. I'm very happy with this purchase.

We got one of these because living in the high elevation of Colorado, we don't have air conditioning, just baseboard heat, so there is no air circulation in our house. We've seen lots of dust in the air when a ray of light hits it, plus god knows what else. For the first few days, we set this in the bedroom and let it run on high during the day. It's fairly loud on high, but does a great job at moving air. The difference in air quality and smell was noticeably improved after just one day.

Being unfamiliar with the brands of air purifiers here on Puppymothers, like many other products, I expected this to be yet another Chinese mass-market cheap appliance of questionable quality. I would have been fine with that. But instead, I was surprised to find the packaging was Apple-like in quality, the build and finish of the device was top-notch, and where it really matters, it works great. The touch controls are intuitive, and filter replacement is easy.

The night mode is ideal for those who like a completely quiet room. I honestly need some white noise in the background, as I live on a busy NYC Boulevard. It is PERFECT. I set it on one of the higher settings, and it cancels out the noise- as well as cleaning the air in my bedroom as I sleep.

I ordered a smaller one for my room because I have been taking allergy meds for years. I had no idea these worked so well until a friend turned hers on when I told her my daughter couldn’t stop coughing due to allergies… everyone Thought she has a virus. I even had her tested and she was negative for all viruses.
So don’t forget to remove the plastic so you don’t have to deal with the plastic smell.

Everyone complaining about the plastic smell probably did not remove the plastic from the filter. I turn it on and it smelled like plastic. I decided to open the Purifier where the filter goes and it was wrapped in plastic and it said “remove before turning on”
I got it because my daughter is highly allergic to dust and carpet. We loved to an apartment that has carpet and she wouldn’t stop coughing. I had to give her meds daily. I realized it was allergies because when she would be out of the apartments she would stop coughing. I am also allergic to dust and many other things.
The moment I put it in her room, she stopped coughing with it 20 min. The air feels crisp and light. I tested it by turning it off the next day, she got stuffy and started coughing again.

the red light for the filter turned on after only 3 uses. I reset it and the light hasn't turned on since. I don't know. I also wish this operated via a remote similar to the Dyson, because we have a very curious dog that is able to turn this on with his nose ALL THE TIME. He thinks it's fun. So, if you want a cheap but fairly good quality air purifier, and your dog isn't an idiot, I recommend this.

We already have a Dyson air purifier, so we have fairly high standards when it comes to these little machines. This one is pretty good and I recommend it as an affordable air purifier. But, I do wish that it had the option to run on a daily timer (it only lets you run it for a certain amount of time and then shuts off, or it runs nonstop). We have three dogs, so air purifiers are pretty important between them and the smells from the kitchen. It seems to do the job and the smell of food definitely dissipates after 30+ minutes of this being on.

Win win!! I would highly recommend this. I notice the quality of air decrease (orange) like when we cook as our room is next to the kitchen and shortly after the quality improve again (green/blue) so it’s working and cleaning. 1000sqft Apt and only one unit will be purchasing another for the opposite end where the second BR is shortly. Works as expected! Air is cleaner and I’m definitely less congested at night as I have a severe allergy to dust. The noise is almost silent on the lowest setting, we really don’t even know it’s on at all so we set it to auto all day. My boyfriend needs a little white noise at night to drown out ringing in his ears so we turn it on the highest setting to sleep and it is just loud enough to give him the humming sound he needs to sleep and I have gotten use to sleeping with the radio or fan running for him so this is perfect as it’s doing us a job aside from white noise at night.

This purifier definitely works as described. I have children with allergies that can get really bad and after the purchase of this filter we can all tell the difference in the quality of air in the room. We also have pets and it keeps the amount of dust and pet dander way down from before we got it. Also the noise level in sleep mode is little to none. You almost forget it’s in the room. I look forward to getting additional units for the bedrooms and other parts of the house.

My boyfriend has really bad asthma and we just adopted a rescue dog so the cat has been hanging out in the bedroom a lot more. He was having a terrible time sleeping and breathing until we got this. He didn’t believe that it would work and the first night we used it he slept for 8 hours straight with no issues! He now loves it and how easy it is to use. Also helps with smells (cat litter box is in the bedroom as well) and we both can definitely notice how much nicer it is in there with it. Highly recommend and going to buy a few more for other rooms in the house.

The device resembles a morbidly obese 1st gen Amazon Echo, but is light enough to be transported under one arm. Like 90% of users, I discovered the internal filter has its own plastic shipping sleeve AFTER I fired it up for the first time. Luckily, it was only about 20-30 seconds before the correction. At full throttle (about the sound level of a box fan on low) the AQI sensor (about 12 ft away) dropped 30 pts inside of an hour. A full hour took it down to the teens. Medium speed is a purr, low speed is nearly mute.
This is a LOT of cleaning power at a reasonable price, but be advised it does dominate whatever surface its parked on.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where the last three years have produced at least a solid month of smoky air necessitating the use of N95 or higher when outdoors. Even with my apt completely sealed up (including the wall A/C unit), the bad air still has found its way in. One day, I had enough and ordered the Puppymothers air filter in addition to a PurpleAir indoor AQI sensor.

I did a lot of online research on air purifiers before making a purchase. (I hadn't even heard of Puppymothers before buying this.) I can't say if this unit is better than the others because I haven't owned the others and there are some good ones out there. I chose this because it looked like it was good and would be really tough to beat for the price … IF it worked well. It has worked well for us.

The control panel on top is simple and has useful options. It includes a timer option, three different speeds, and a button that turns off the control panel lights. Turning off the lights is a nice feature for sleeping if you want to run it at a higher speed than the sleep setting.

I'm mechanically challenged, so when I saw there was some air filter cleaning required, I wondered how it would go. Cleaning the exterior part of the filter was easy. Just twisted off the bottom of the unit and wiped the dust off. (I'm no expert on the filter, but it's all one piece. The exterior part of the filter has a cloth-like wrap around it that catches the biggest particles. That apparently helps the interior part of the filter. I wiped off the exterior part of the filter.)

It got rid of odor well. Two quick examples:
First: We burned some hamburgers in the kitchen. It stunk up the living room, too. About one hour of running this purifier on its highest level reduced the smell. Two hours later, it was almost unnoticeable.
Second: I got overly aggressive with some Lysol in an office, and the smell was so strong I didn't want to sit in there. I moved the air purifier in there, and in half an hour, it was tolerable. After an hour (small room), the smell was barely noticeable.
I bet there are strong odors it might not be able to handle. It's just an air purifier, after all. But the two times we needed it for a smell, it worked well.

I was surprised at how much dust and hairs it had collected in about 10 days. We keep a pretty clean house, but there's a lot more dust in the air than I realized. I have a touch of asthma and feel like I'm breathing easier. (I have wondered if I am actually breathing easier or if I just think I'm breathing easier because I saw how much dust it was catching. I suppose it's a win either way.)

I've been using this in my room to help with cat allergies and I think it has helped, I was taking my allergy meds less. But, I wasn't 100% convinced until I put it in my son's room. His room constantly smelled like stale French fries. He had 2 friends staying over and I hear them complaining about a smell and they determined the source was their feet. After running overnight (high), I was amazed by a noticeable difference, it actually smelled fresh.

But the real reason to spend extra is that it does a great job of detecting smoke in the air. You can literally leave it on Auto all the time. It runs at a low speed on auto mode, so quietly you literally cannot hear the fan unless you're right next to it. I'm sure it doesn't really clean the air, but it circulates it just enough to detect changes in air quality. My wife started cleaning the oven this morning, and the first I knew about it was when the air purifier turned the fan on low because it detected the smoke from the oven. I didn't even smell it, but the air purifier did from all the way upstairs in a bedroom and acted accordingly.

I got the cheaper air purifier that isn't smart, and it worked so good that I got this one. It's definitely worth the extra $50. It syncs with your phone, so you can turn it on and off from anywhere (which is kinda nice), but you can also set a schedule so that it turns on a higher or lower speed when you're sleeping or out of the house.

Less sniffling and snuffling means I sleep better, and wake up in a more cheerful mood. I've recommended the same model for several friends to boost the effects of quarantines within their home when some are sick and others aren't, yet all unfortunately have to share the bathroom. As an extra precaution, they simply stagger bathroom schedules and leave the machine running to clean the air between scheduled restroom visits. In a small restroom, it doesn't take long to filter and clean the room's air before the next person enters. Everyone loves have a little more peace of mind during the pandemic. My only complaint is that I recommended the product to so many of my friends, that now Amazon is out of stock, and I have to wait for them to restock.

I tutor in my home. I have room for 7 desks, all of them six feet apart. The children wear masks, but knowing that I'm diabetic and asthmatic, I wanted more peace of mind. Sanitizing desks frequently takes care of surfaces, but I wished to purify the air too, as my students come from different families. I simply sat an air purifier on each and every single desk, 12-18 inches away from their seat. My students are able to attend live classes online, and hear their teacher's lessons when the air purifiers are running on maximum power level 3. I can set a timer when they walk in, and the purifiers will run all day while they're here. Can't be happier. Only problem is that I bought 4, and desire 3 more downstairs, and then a few more for the upstairs bedrooms. As a bonus, I have to do less dusting around the house, and who can complain about less work. I'm having less allergy attacks as well.

I absolutely love how it automatically it turns on when it senses the air is bad then it turns off when the air is good again. It’s really easy to use. You can use the VeSync app if you want. I prefer to use the app so I can lock the display so my daughter can’t mess with the buttons. I have it on the floor in the middle of a 15ft by 15ft room and it works perfectly! I recommend this air purifier for everyone who has allergies and breathing problems. You won’t regret this purchase.

I was having issues in my room while sleeping, my doctor recommended I get this air purifier to help with the quality of air.
I purchased this in September 2021, and I’m writing this in May 2022. Filter light went on this morning indicating that the filter is full, so I went on Puppymothers and ordered a new filter and it arrives today!! You can see from the picture the amount of dust, hair, And some little dirt that was picked up in the filter! I have kept us on almost every day in my room and it lasted very long.

I'm a dummy, and I didn't remove the plastic from the HPEA filter before turning this on. Don't be me. Read the instructions. I thought it was a little loud, so after a minute, I figured out how to remove the HEPA filter, and took the plastic wrapping off of it, reinserted the HEPA filter, and turned the unit back on. Since then, in just ONE WEEK OF USE, this HEPA filter was totally gunked up with various different animal hair, fur, and dust. We have four cats, two dogs, and a Moluccan Cockatoo, so there's LOTS going on here in the air. I am so impressed with this unit after only one week's use, that I'm about to buy a second one for my bedroom.
EDIT: Bought second one for bedroom. Very happy with both.
